Whether you have been encouraged by others or inspired by viewing our national, Olympic or world championship competitors, our Learn to Curl program is an excellent introduction to curling. It looks like fun. It is and also challenging and social.
Learn to Curl is an adult, on and off-ice program with qualified staff teaching the basics of curling. The program content includies:
- Curling etiquette,
- Safety on the ice,
- Delivering the stone,
- Understanding turns and curl,
- Use of alternate delivery aids,
- Sweeping,
- Strategy of the game, and
- Short practice games.
Equipment is provided, you need only to bring a clean pair of rubber soled shoes and loose-fitting clothing suitable in a 5-degree environment.
Learn to Curl has Fall and Winter sessions. The Fall 2024 session has 2 classes:
- Condensed Program: 3 sessions, Friday night October 18 (6:30 to 8:30), Saturday & Sunday October 19 & 20 (1:00 to 4:30). Should they wish, graduates could then join seasoning opening Rookie Curling or Club league play commencing the week of October 21st.
- Weekly Program: 6 weekly sessions starting Thursday November 7th (1:00 to 2:30). Graduates should they wish, would then be assisted in joining the Rookie Curling or Club league play.
The 2025 Winter registration will open in December 2024.
