NIAGARA FRONTIER 2024 OPEN BONSPIEL
January 12 – 14, 2024
We are excited to bring back the newly named Niagara Frontier Open Bonspiel (formerly known as the Youngs). The Bonspiel features several changes that make it accessible to all curlers of all skill levels. We hope you will enjoy this Bonspiel.
Highlights include:
- Open format spiel open to any combination of men and women
- Rated where each club will rate their play
- Shortened to 3 days
- Open and Seniors Divisions
- Guaranteed 3 games
The focus of this spiel is to have fun for all Niagara curlers aimed to encourage newer curlers to try a spiel type of event. You will get to play in at least 3 of the participating clubs: St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, Niagara Falls Curling Club, St. Catharines Curling Centre and Welland Curling Club.
The spiel is now a three-day event running Friday thru to Sunday making it more accessible to all curlers. The new format is changed to a rated open spiel. Participants can sign up as a pair or as an individual. The spiel Committee will match up players based on club rating to make up competitive teams geared to fun and good games. The Open division features a maximum of 32 teams, 8 from each club, so if you are interested in playing, sign up early!
New this year is the Seniors division, (60 years and older) This draw has a limit of 16 senior teams (4 from each club). to avoid having more than 2 games in a day! Again, sign up as a pair and we will fill in the others.
Guaranteed 3 games, meals and prizes, plus a music night in Welland on Friday Night.
Cost will be $50.00 per person.¶
